Hours:               May 13 to August 30, 2024 (35 hours/week, weekends & evenings as required)

Salary:               $16.55 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The successful applicant will work closely with L&A tourism staff to plan & execute a variety of tourism-related initiatives. Job responsibilities include:

  • Exploring local communities and cultural/tourism assets to generate digital content for Facebook & Instagram that promotes our region to engage and grow our social media following.
  • Writing tourism blogs and articles for our Naturally L&A website.
  • Visiting & promoting accommodations, restaurants, food service and other small businesses.
  • Assisting to coordinate several County-led events at the L&A Dark Sky Viewing Area as well as a large cycling event and geocaching event, focusing on client service/communication.
  • Satisfactory attendance record, subject to the requirements of the Ontario Human Rights Code.

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Currently enrolled with full-time student status in a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Returning to full-time studies in the next academic semester.
  • Superior interpersonal skills that enable you to deal effectively and courteously with the public and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
  • Skilled in Facebook & Instagram social platforms with the ability to create reels and engaging content.
  • A love of nature, outdoor exploration, writing, photography, and fun.
