Lennox & Addington County Purchases Denbigh Ambulance Base

On January 17, 2018 Lennox and Addington County purchased the Denbigh ambulance base property. The County has been operating an ambulance base from a leased facility in Denbigh since 2003. The County will continue to operate one ambulance for twelve hours per day from the newly purchased base.

“Lennox and Addington County’s purchase ensures that ambulance service will continue to have a location in Denbigh,” stated Warden Bill Lowry.

Lennox and Addington County Council wishes to announce that Bill Lowry, Mayor of Loyalist Township, was elected as County Warden for the year 2018, at Council’s Inaugural Meeting on December 13, 2017.  Bill Lowry previously served as County Warden for the years 2012 and 2017.

New Accessible Pedestrian Signals - Downtown Napanee

As part of the Dundas Street and Bridge Street re-construction projects in Napanee two Downtown intersections are now equipped with Accessible Pedestrian Signals.

Accessible Pedestrian Signals, abbreviated as APS, provide visual, audible and vibro-tactile WALK indications to advise pedestrians when they have the right-of-way to cross the street in a particular crossing direction.


Larry Keech Honoured with Archives Dedication

Larry Keech, Chief Administrative Officer is retiring after 29 years of dedicated service to the County of Lennox and Addington. Larry presided over his last County Council Meeting on June 28th. At this meeting County Council announced that the County Museum and Archives Reading Room will be named the “Keech Reading Room and Archives”.

County Appoints New Chief Administrative Officer

(June 21, 2017) Lennox and Addington County Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Orchard as the County’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).

Ms. Orchard has almost 20 years of senior municipal leadership experience in three provinces including both urban and rural communities. She is currently serving as the CAO for Huron County, a position she has held since 2013. Prior to joining Huron County, she was the CAO for Annapolis County in Nova Scotia.
