Fredericton, NB (May 31, 2018) – Brenda Orchard, Chief Administrative Officer for Lennox and Addington County, ON, has been elected to the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA). She was elected as the CAMA Board Representative for Ontario during the association’s annual general meeting, held on May 29, 2017 at CAMA’s national conference in Fredericton, NB.

The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus and Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) welcomed the Ontario Government’s commitment of $71 million to improve cell service across the region. Ontario Rural Affairs Minister Jeff Leal announced the funding formally at an event in Belleville yesterday.
EORN has proposed a $213 million public-private partnership to improve both the reach and quality of cellular data services in the region. The federal government and the private sector are also being asked to support the project.
On January 17, 2018 Lennox and Addington County purchased the Denbigh ambulance base property. The County has been operating an ambulance base from a leased facility in Denbigh since 2003. The County will continue to operate one ambulance for twelve hours per day from the newly purchased base.
“Lennox and Addington County’s purchase ensures that ambulance service will continue to have a location in Denbigh,” stated Warden Bill Lowry.

Lennox and Addington County Council wishes to announce that Bill Lowry, Mayor of Loyalist Township, was elected as County Warden for the year 2018, at Council’s Inaugural Meeting on December 13, 2017. Bill Lowry previously served as County Warden for the years 2012 and 2017.
