Stargazing evenings return to the Lennox & Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area! Witness the ‘The Milky Way’ and a variety of celestial objects on July 21st & 22nd beginning at 9:30pm (weather permitting).

Dark sky enthusiast Joe Gilker will once again be on hand to point out various constellations with his laser pointer and let visitors take a peek through his telescope. Saturn, the Hercules Cluster, the Eagle Nebula, and the Ring Nebula will all be highlighted during the evening. A spectacular view of the Milky Way will also be making its way across the night sky, which appears earlier in the evening at this time of year.

This event will be of particular interest to astrophotographers. Whether you’re experienced or new to photographing the night sky, organizers invite you to bring along your cameras and tripods. The evening provides an excellent opportunity to assemble and learn from one another while ‘shooting the stars’. All are welcome to stay until the wee hours of the morning and attempt to capture images of the skies above.
