Lafarge Canada Inc., partners invests $8 million in innovative low carbon fuels at its Bath cement plant

BATH, ON, May 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Lafarge Canada Inc, Natural Resources Canada, the Queen's Institute for Energy and Environmental Policy and Carbon Management Canada announced today that they are joining forces and investing more than $8 million to develop innovative solutions to power Lafarge Canada's cement plant in Bath, Ontario, by re-using local surplus materials as low carbon fuels.

Stewart Mutch is the owner of Mutch's Autoglass Ltd., providing customers with glass repair and rustproofing for their vehicles. Rob Brown, a recent graduate of Loyalist College, with an Automotive Service Technician diploma was searching for a job in his field. With the support of an EODP (Eastern Ontario Development Program) Youth Internship Grant, Stewart was able to create a job for Rob that gave him the practical experience he needed.

While at Mutch's Autoglass, Rob has learned to rustproof vehicles, replace windows, complete glass repairs and has earned a certificate from Krown Rust Control.  Rob has found the right fit - a company he enjoys working for.  "It's better than a big business, " he says.  "Here it is just me and Stewart. He can concentrate on teaching me.  In a larger company he would not have the time to focus on me."
