In 2017, the Town of Greater Napanee and the County of Lennox and Addington begin a reconstruction of Dundas Street between Hessford Street and Adelphi Street. The three-year project will update infrastructure and will beautify our historic street.
The first phase of the project is anticipated to begin in April. The timetable for construction is as follows:
Phase 1 (Centre Street west to Robinson Street)
- February 2, 2017 – Public Information Centre
- February 2017 – Tendering
- March 2017 – Award of Tender
- April 2017 – Commence Construction
- October 2017 – Complete Construction
Phase 2 (Centre Street east to Adelphi Street):
- November 2017 – Public Information Centre
- January 2018 – Tendering
- March 2018 – Award of Tender
- April 2018 – Commence Construction
- October 2018 – Complete Construction
Phase 3 (Hessford Street east to Robinson Street):
- November 2018 – Public Information Centre
- January 2019 – Tendering
- March 2019 – Award of Tender
- April 2019 – Commence Construction
- October 2019 – Complete Construction
Lennox & Addington County will be offering support to businesses in the downtown during the reconstruction project.
Communications will be key to a successful project. Our goal is to ensure that all BIA members feel connected and involved during construction. The County of Lennox and Addington will be leading construction communications. BIA Members and the public will be kept up to date through a website portal, social media, e-blasts and newsletters. Joe Hogan, our Construction Liaison Officer will be your connection to the project. This individual will be onsite and will ensure that communications are timely and clear. He will be available to listen to concerns and will be your link to the contractor and the municipality.
