Rent-Geared-to-Income Housing (RGI)

Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) Housing is a type of housing assistance sometimes referred to as social housing or subsidized renting. If you are determined eligible, RGI Housing allows you to pay rent calculated at about 30 per cent of your total income.

In Prince Edward and Lennox & Addington Counties, RGI units are owned and operated by Social Services, non-profit housing providers and private landlords.

Prince Edward – Lennox & Addington Social Services administers a waiting list for all RGI units in both Prince Edward Lennox & Addington Counties. The wait list for RGI Housing in this area is typically 4-7 years.

You must complete an ‘Application for Rent-Geared-to-Income Housing’ in order to be placed on the Rent-Geared-to-Income Housing wait list.
