With the closures of many business and isolation orders, many of us have had to become our own chefs, teachers, therapists, plumbers and more. Although we can still order parts online, many of us have had to use a workaround when problems pop up.

Prepping for Curbside Service

On Thursday, May 14th, the Province announced that public libraries will have the option to open for curbside service starting Tuesday, May 19th. At this time, we are not ready to offer curbside pickup or returns.

While we are eager to get library materials in your hands once again, it's is important that we proceed with caution so we can best ensure the safety of our staff and patrons.

With a different tone to our first long weekend, why not change the theme to a retro birthday celebration: “The British queen was born on May 24, 1819. She was a reigning monarch (Queen) for 63 years, seven months and two days.

Books for Babies

Although the focus may be on teaching our school aged children, reading to our younger children is vital to their development. Take the time to focus one-on-one, by reading a story to them.

With children studying at home, why not join them by indulging in a Classic. Maybe there is one you have been meaning to read, but never had time for? Although more challenging than a beach read or thriller, they offer you the opportunity to practice your focus through the length and language you encounter and will give you an opportunity to engage, rather than just be entertained. You will often find allusions to the classics in everyday life.
