Lennox and Addington County Economic Development returned from the Economic Development Association of Canada Conference (Fredericton, NB) with two national marketing awards.  Each year the Economic Development Association of Canada hosts the Marketing Canada Awards.  The awards are presented to acknowledge communities across Canada who have succeeded in their marketing efforts and to highlight up-and-coming best practices in the economic development profession.

Lennox and Addington Economic Development was the winner of two National Marketing Awards.  The new tourism brand “Naturally L&A” and the student entrepreneur program “Kidpreneur” were recognized for their creativity and uniqueness.  “Lennox and Addington County is very proud to be recognized for our economic development programs.  Winning a national award is a significant accomplishment for our County”, stated Warden Bill Lowry.

The Chair of the Lennox and Addington Economic Development Coalition, County Councillor Ric Bresee accepted the awards on behalf of Lennox and Addington County Council.  “It is an honour for our economic development team and the County to compete and win at the national level. This is exceptional exposure for Lennox and Addington County”, stated Councillor Ric Bresee.

The Economic Development Office launched the Kidpreneur program in 2017.  Kidpreneur targets students in grade 6, 7 and 8 with the goal to foster entrepreneurship and highlight the numerous opportunities that are available for our youth.  Kidpreneur includes classroom visits by Economic Development staff and local business owners and concludes with a county wide Kidpreneur Fair that allows students to showcase their business ideas.
