I love picture books! There is nothing more exciting to me when reading at storytime than finding a book that engages not only the children but the caregivers as well. Below are 3 of my favorite books about books and reading.

Image removed.New to our collection is The Book Hog by Greg Pizzoli. The Book Hog loved books – the smell, the feel and the pictures but he had a secret. The Book Hog could not read. One day he finds the library and storytime! His new discovery helps him learn to read and not only love the smell, feel and pictures but the stories inside the books as well.

This Book Just Ate My Dog by Richard Byrne is one of my class visit read-aloud favorites because of its humor and reader participation. Bella is taking her dog for a stroll across the page when the book suddenly eats him!

You Can Read by Helaine Becker is a humorous rhyming treat that encourages readers to read everywhere and manages to rhyme France and Underpants.
