• County Council authorized the Warden to send a letter to Premier Ford in response to the recent announcement of a temporary $3 per hour wage increase to eligible PSW’s across Ontario.  Although Council is very supportive of PSW’s, they believe that all employees of the John M. Parrott Centre are essential and should have access to the same financial incentives from the Province.
  • Correspondence will also be sent to the Minister of Health & Long-Term Care regarding Council’s serious concerns about Directive #5 and its impact on the John M. Parrott Centre and all Long-Term Care Homes in Ontario.  Directive #5 relates to PPE, particularly N95 masks which are in very short supply across the Province.
  • At a Special Meeting also held on October 14th, representatives of the Eastern Ontario Regional Network (EORN) provided an overview on investments made in Lennox and Addington County during their Phase 1 Broadband project and updated Council on upcoming projects.  Members of Council and Staff of the County’s four lower-tier municipalities also participated in the meeting.
