Scottish Folklore and Fairy Tales with Janis Mackay

On July 28th at 1pm, listen to a Scottish storytelling enchant with stories of loch, sea and hill all the way from Scotland. Janis will share a selkie story (those magical seals that can change into humans) a summer tree treasure story, of when the trees uprooted and danced, and a fairy story from the island of Shetland. Janis weaves song into these magical stories.

Needle Felted Creatures

Artist, Beth Fisher, will be teaching the always fun and whimsical art of needle felting. Participants will be creating their own felted creature from wool and with the fleece from Beth’s herd of alpacas. This program is for children aged 11 and up, however a simultaneous felting craft will be available for younger children.

Magical Tales from Canada with Deborah Dunleavy

Story spinner Deborah Dunleavy takes viewers on a fanciful journey with magical tales from our Canadian home. There are animals with special powers, canoes that can fly, and little people who use their magic to grant wishes. Deborah loves to have her young audience join in with clapping, chanting and moving along.
