The village of Roblin is embraced with a wealth of history. I'm proud to have resided in the village for more than 60 years.

At one time there was a community hall, several churches, a couple grocery stores, a gas station and a one-room school. The village was full of life, buzzing with many families and children. The elders made it their passion to ensure community celebrations happened all year. Christmas concerts were organized that involved most of the children and adults in the village. Music, laughter, great food and incredible love.

I would guess over 30 children resided in the village in the late 50's, 60's and 70's. The Salmon River would be the host to amazing swimming adventures and skating parties under the stars. Children would run free, parents opened up their hearts and homes to an extra child at the table. There were certainly moments when a bloody nose might happen or a few tears shed but overall it all worked out to bring another day.

Time has moved so quickly, but I can still smile and silently hear those voices from the past say, "let's go out and play."
