The Town of Greater Napanee and the County of Lennox and Addington has started a reconstruction of Dundas Street between Hessford Street and Adelphi Street. The three-year project will update infrastructure and will beautify our historic street.
News & Updates
Effective June 2nd
Len Corcoran Excavating Ltd. (LCE) crews are currently working on completing the underground services on Diggin' Downtown Napanee within the Centre Street to Robert Street block. Dundas Street is currently closed from Centre Street to West Street.
Construction crews have completed the replacement of sewer and watermain infrastructure within the 1st block of construction from Robert Street to the east side of the Centre Street intersection and will soon begin replacement from West Street to Robert Street. Installation of new traffic signals has begun at the intersection of Dundas Street & Centre Street.
It is anticipated that the reinstatement of concrete curbs and gutters will begin within the next week between Robert Street and Centre Street with asphalt paving occurring shortly after.
Due to weather and unforeseen delays to the construction schedule, it is estimated that Dundas Street from Robert Street to Centre Street will remain closed to traffic until Friday, July 14th.
Note that LOCAL TRAFFIC (not thru traffic) can by-pass the barricades to enter all LOCAL TRAFFIC / NO EXIT blocks in the area. Access to the 2 blocks under construction will be provided to Emergency Service Providers and pedestrians. Residents and Businesses within the 2 blocks under construction will be kept advised of access availability.
Ongoing notices will be given to advise of future block closures as work progresses.
We appreciate your patience during the construction. Should you have any questions or require any further information please contact one of the following or speak with any senior staff on site wearing a white hard hat or contact Diggin' Downtown Napanee's Community Liaison Officer.
