TD Summer Reading is coming to a close for 2017

While the TD Summer Reading Club will soon be coming to a close for 2017, there is still time to complete your summer reading challenges before the wrap up parties! We ask that you please RSVP for a party by August 18th, although we will be flexible as we understand you may be cramming to reach your eight books.

Larry Keech Honoured with Archives Dedication

Larry Keech, Chief Administrative Officer is retiring after 29 years of dedicated service to the County of Lennox and Addington. Larry presided over his last County Council Meeting on June 28th. At this meeting County Council announced that the County Museum and Archives Reading Room will be named the “Keech Reading Room and Archives”.

Celebrate Canada’s 150th at the Lennox and Addington County Museum

Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with just a loonie admission to the Lennox and Addington County Museum, Napanee.  During July and August, the County Museum is host to “In the Money”, a travelling exhibit from the Bank of Canada.  This fun and engaging exhibit explores how paper is made, compares security and printing features and provides insight into ancient coins and notes.  Through interactive stations and displays, visitors will explore a behind-the-scenes glimpse of modern methods for developing, testing and producing secure innovative bank notes.

Introducing Libby by OverDrive

Library patrons can use the Libby app to download eBooks and eAudiobooks for free from the library. It offers the same collection as OverDrive but with an alternative look. Click here to learn more about Libby. When searching for your library, type in "Ontario Library Consortium".

Erin Markuschewsky from the Napanee Branch of the County of Lennox & Addington Libraries recently enjoyed the latest memoir/self-help book from Sheryl Sandberg.

Option B is a thought provoking and interesting read about a woman who has lost her husband and must learn how to live again,” explains Erin. “Readers of Sheryl’s first book Lean In will see a new side of the Facebook COO.”

New 'Art in the Library' Exhibit

The County of Lennox and Addington Public Libraries are proud to support the community’s culture and talent. It is for this reason that we have started the “Art in the Library” program in partnership with the Greater Napanee Area Arts Association (GNAAA). A prominent feature wall was created at the Napanee Branch specifically for this program where artists can display their work.

The latest exhibit, starring Lois Sexsmith and Margaret Ray will run June 30th through August 31st.
