We are thrilled to offer Ontario Park Passes to all L&A residents for the 2021 season! Through a joint partnership with the Ontario Parks - Day Permit Lending Program, residents can borrow provincial day passes for free. Passes provide complimentary day-use access for one vehicle and its occupants at more than 100 provincial parks in Ontario. Passes can be borrowed for a five day period.

This lending program runs until December 31, 2021, and is motivated by the commitment to help Ontarians spend more time in nature by making it easier and more affordable for people to enjoy the benefits of our provincial parks. During these challenging times, Ontario Parks is encouraging families to increase positive mental health by being active, exploring, and enjoying the beauty of nature.

"Getting outdoors and spending time in nature can have a profound positive impact on our health and well-being, and this has become even more evident during COVID-19," says Jeff Yurek, Minister of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks. "Cost should not be a barrier to enjoying these important benefits, which is why we are helping to make Ontario Parks more affordable and accessible to all."

A Day-Use Pass is a great way to save money and enjoy our beautiful provincial parks. Here is what the pass includes:

  • Unlimited daily vehicle entry at over 100 operating provincial parks for the duration of your permit.
  • Daily park entry for one vehicle plus all its passengers.
  • The opportunity to visit your favourite park regularly throughout the 2021 season or to explore parks across Ontario.

These passes are especially important right now to provide families, from the same household, the opportunity to get out, be active, bird watch, hike, ski, and explore nature. There’s never been a better time to take advantage of these great day passes!

BEGINNING ON JUNE 7, 2021 - visitors will be able to book day use access for their visits up to five days in advance. Library patrons who have borrowed a seasonal permit to visit participating Ontario Parks will need to obtain an advance daily vehicle permit for all visits, including free day use days. Obtaining a permit in advance will allow people to plan ahead, which means more time on the beach or trails and less time in long lines, and guarantee they have a parking spot upon arrival for the parks listed: Algonquin, Arrowhead, Batchawana Bay, Craigleith, Darlington, Forks of the Credit, Kakabeka Falls, Kettle Lakes, Lake Superior, Long Point, Mono Cliffs, North Beach, Pinery, Presqu’ile, Sandbanks Sibbald Point, and Turkey Point.

Passes are available first come, first serve at the Amherstview and Napanee Branches. View current availability here.
