Larry Keech, Chief Administrative Officer is retiring after 29 years of dedicated service to the County of Lennox and Addington. Larry presided over his last County Council Meeting on June 28th. At this meeting County Council announced that the County Museum and Archives Reading Room will be named the “Keech Reading Room and Archives”.

The leadership of Larry Keech led to the completion of the expansion and retrofit of the Museum and Archives. The redesigned facility was officially opened as part of the County of Lennox and Addington’s 150th anniversary celebrations in August 2014. Larry identified this project as one of the most memorable accomplishments of his career.

Larry Keech has worked for more than 35 years in municipal government in Lennox and Addington, over 6 years as Clerk-Treasurer of the Township of Camden East, and 29 years as Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk of the County. Between those two municipal positions, Larry gained valuable experience as Executive Assistant to a cabinet minister and premier at Queen’s Park, Executive Director of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario and Senior Advisor to a federal cabinet minister in Ottawa. Larry has had the unique experience of working for four levels of government and in total, dedicating 43 years to public service since his election as a Councillor in the Township of Camden East at age 22.
