Lennox & Addington County is celebrating Canada's 150 birthday with a free outdoor concert on Saturday, August 19th beginning at 7pm. The event takes places on the grounds of the Lennox & Addington County Court House, located at 97 Thomas Street East in Napanee. Those in attendance are asked to bring their lawn chairs to best enjoy the show.

The evening's headline act is The Irish Descendants, a Juno award winning folk music group from St. John's, Newfoundland. Their music is a blend of traditional Irish Newfoundland songs and tunes. Led by frontman Con O'Brien, they've played to sold out audiences across Canada, making them an ideal choice to perform here in L&A in honour of our country's 150th birthday.

Circus Orange returns to Lennox & Addington County for another explosive performance. Those who attended L&A's 150th anniversary celebration in 2014 undoubtedly remember their high impact, pyrotechnic show that took place while hanging from a crane. There will be more of the same from Circus Orange this year, along with some new surprises with their fire and pyro performance.

Also performing is 70s Revolution featuring L&A County resident Andrew Martin. Andrew and his band will be bringing us some of the greatest hits of the 1970's. Spectators will be dancing in their seats to funk, soul, disco and classic rock.

Sol & the Switchblades kicks off the evening. They're a three-piece Rockabilly band playing favourites from the 50s and 60s. Led by L&A County's singer/guitarist Soloman Woodland, their music is influenced by Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, Bill Haley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, and Richie Valens.

Below is the evening's schedule of events:

  • 7pm - Sol and the Switchblades
  • 7:30pm - Opening Ceremonies
  • 7:45pm - 70s Revolution with Andrew Martin
  • 8:20pm - The Irish Descendants
  • 9:50pm - Circus Orange Fire & Pyro Performance

The Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives will be open from 10am - 8pm. Admission is free for the day. Visitors can enjoy a variety of Canada-themed exhibits currently on display.
