Lennox and Addington County Council wishes to announce that Bill Lowry, Mayor of Loyalist Township, was elected as County Warden for the year 2018, at Council’s Inaugural Meeting on December 13, 2017.  Bill Lowry previously served as County Warden for the years 2012 and 2017.

Warden Lowry began his municipal service as a Councillor in Loyalist Township in 1998.  In 2007 he was elected Deputy-Reeve of the Township, and elected Mayor in 2010 and again in 2014.

As a member of Lennox and Addington County Council, Warden Lowry has served on the Emergency Services Advisory Committee and as Chair of the Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee.  Warden Lowry has represented the County on the Kingston, Frontenac Lennox and Addington Health Unit and the Prince Edward-Lennox and Addington Social Services Committee, the Lafarge Community Liaison Committee as well as the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus.

Warden Lowry worked for Ontario Hydro for 37 years prior to his retirement.  He and his wife Judi live in Amherstview, where they are involved in many community organizations and spend as much time as possible with their daughter-in-law Erin and grandson Elliott. 

In his inaugural address, Warden Lowry congratulated Council on all the accomplishments they have made over the past year and compared the upcoming municipal budget process to a road which is always under construction. He stated, “I’m very confident that with the professional team that Council has guiding them, we will create a responsible budget to manage this County in 2018.”
