Canada Summer Jobs accepting applications until February 9th

If you operate a business and are looking to receive funding to assist in the hiring of a summer student, the application period for Canada Summer Jobs 2018 is now open until February 9th. Employers who have completed the Grants and Contributions Online Services (GCOS) registration process can use their GCOS account to submit their applications. Employers who are not registered with the GCOS can still apply online by following the same process as in past years, or submit a paper application by mail or in person. Tech Workshops scheduled for February in Napanee

In partnership with Frontenac CFDC, Lennox & Addington County is hosting a number of tech workshops designed to assist local businesses. Each event takes place at the Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives, located at 97 Thomas Street East in Napanee. Click on the links below for details and to register:

Early registration for individual workshops is $10+ HST and Eventbrite fees. The price increases to $25 per workshop two days before each event. All Napanee workshops will be held at the Lennox & Addington County Museum & Archives at 9:30am. Find out more about the program.


Selling Food to Ontario Training Workshop is happening on February 27th

If you are starting or growing a food business, don't miss this 'Selling Food to Ontario' Training Workshop happening on Tuesday, February 27th from 9am - 3:30pm (registration begins at 8:30am). The event takes place at the L&A County Museum & Archives in Napanee. This workshop focuses on small producers/processors looking to value-add or expand into a different market and presents ‎information about selling through different marketing channels, labeling requirements, food trends, etc. Find out more about the workshop.


EmployerOne Survey

The East Central Ontario Training Board is calling on employers to help us better understand the workforce issues and challenges facing your business. The EmployerOne survey is designed to collect information from you on a range of issues, including projected vacancies, hiring intentions, recruitment strategies and challenges, as well as your perspective on candidate skills, education and training. After analysis, the data is released to schools, community partners, government agencies, and the public. The data is used to guide Economic Development, Chambers of Commerce and Employment Ontario Service Providers in better addressing your workforce challenges and needs.
