The Lennox & Addington Stewardship Council hosts The Coyote on October 18th at 7pm at Southfredricksburgh Hall in Greater Napanee. Tyler Wheeldon, from Trent University, will present the findings of a 3-year study conducted on coyotes in Prince Edward County (2010-2013). He will provide a wealth of information on coyotes, including how eastern coyote populations respond to harvest (hunting and trapping). Includes plenty of time for Q and A. Tyler Wheeldon is a PhD Candidate in Environmental and Life Sciences at Trent University and a Wildlife Research Biologist at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.

Mark Ritchie, a sheep farmer on Amherst Island, will present his results on predator proof fencing. He has used many strategies to deal with the coyote predation problem. Fifteen years ago he worked with the Ontario Soil and Crop Association to design and build a coyote proof fence around a 65-acre site. With funding help, the farm now has 300 acres fenced. All are invited, free of charge. Donations are most welcome. For more information email lastewardship@gmail.com or call 613-379-5958.
