Location: Advance Avenue Site Office
Supervisor: Director, Prince Edward-Lennox and Addington Social Services
Hours of Work: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday
Salary Range: $44,480.80 to $52,015.60 per annum



Reporting to the Director, Social Services, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative coordination for the Department:

  • Respond to inquiries and redirection of issues to appropriate staff
  • Provide administrative/office support, prepare committee agendas, minutes, correspondence, reports and presentations
  • Co-ordinate the Director’s and leadership team’s schedules
  • Create, organize and maintain paper and electronic records, including coordination of the department’s records management system
  • Co-ordination of supply inventory, including ordering, verification & processing of accounts payable
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive files and documents
  • Conducts research, compiles data and analyzes reports
  • Develops and maintains systems and processes associated with Social Services
  • Coordinates staff meetings, training and other events on behalf of the Department



  • Post-Secondary education in office/business administration or a related field
  • Minimum of two years experience in office administration
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience providing coordination, project management and administrative support at senior management/organizational levels is preferred
  • Proficiency in computer software applications such as MS Office, ability to learn and experience in mastering new software systems
  • Familiarity with the service delivery structure and challenges as they relate to the delivery of social services is an asset
