Lennox and Addington is growing! Over the past five years employment has increased by 12%. That surpasses both provincial and federal averages. Job creation is a result of many new projects and investment taking place in our County. Here are just a couple of examples:
Direct Coil Inc., a heat transfer product manufacturer in Loyalist Township, is investing $2,417,400 in new equipment and expanding its business. The Province of Ontario Eastern Ontario Development Fund is contributing an additional $268,600, bringing the total investment to $2,686,000.
Direct Coil designs and manufactures heating and cooling coils found in furnaces, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, as well as other engineered products. The investment in new equipment will increase Direct Coil’s production capabilities, reduce lead times to meet consumer demands and create 20 new jobs. Over 100 people are now working at Direct Coil.
Napanee Generating Station
TransCanada’s $1.2 billion Napanee Generating Station is currently under construction in Lennox and Addington County. Over 700 employees have been working on the construction site since 2015. The facility will produce 900 MW of electricity when in operation beginning in early 2018.
