Accreditation Canada guides its clients to reach standards of excellence. Organizations that participate in the accreditation program benefit from a thorough assessment that leads to an action plan for improving every aspect of the health care and services they deliver.
By evaluating the quality of care and services they provide, organizations are able to accurately measure their clinical and operational performance - thereby giving them a clear picture of their strengths and areas to be improved.
Accreditation is one of the best and most effective measures that organizations can use to accurately assess their performance against a national set of standards set by Accreditation Canada in collaboration with the health care and service industry. Accreditation provides public organizations with a means of transparency and public accountability.
Currently, there are thousands of health service organizations that voluntarily participate in the accreditation program. The John M. Parrott Centre is proud to be counted among those organizations who are willing to "raise the bar" through the pursuit of excellence. The John M. Parrott Centre was first accredited in 2002 and will be surveyed for the fourth time later this month.
Two surveyors, Helen Ferley and Elaine Shantz, and one observer, Chantale Mercier, will be visiting on June 22nd, 23rd and 24th. During this time, the surveyors will be reviewing documentation, touring the facility and speaking with residents, family members, volunteers, community partners, visitors and staff. |
