Lennox & Addington County has always placed a strong emphasis on education to help provide a high quality of life for residents and a strong labour force for business.

Post Secondary Education:

Residents of Lennox & Addington County have the opportunity to enrol in any of these private education facilities.

Queen's University, in Kingston is one of Canada’s most prestigious universities. Degree programs are available in engineering, commerce, arts, science, and fine arts. Graduate programs are available in business administration, engineering, industrial relations, education, medicine, public administration, law, and urban & regional planning.

Royal Military College in Kingston offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, science, and arts. RMC is a top ranked full-service university and Canada’s only military university.

St. Lawrence College in Kingston delivers relevant, in-demand courses supported by superior faculty and staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and a wide variety of support services. The college offers a wide variety of part-time and full-time diploma and certificate programs.

Loyalist College in Belleville provides learning opportunities that enable students to build successful careers and to excel in a changing society. The college’s extensive curriculum of technical studies includes programs in applied arts, applied sciences, technology, health sciences and business.

Elementary and Secondary Education

Residents of Lennox & Addington County can choose from an excellent selection of elementary and secondary schools. The area is well-served by both the Limestone District School Board and the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic Separate School Board. 

The Limestone District School Board creates a dynamic environment to prepare students to be responsible adults. This includes special education services, French immersion programs, technical education programs, co-operative education programs, focus programs in specific disciplines, and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities.  Secondary school education facilities found within the Limestone District School Board include Napanee District Secondary School, Ernestown Secondary School, and North Addington Education Centre.

The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is committed to excellence in Catholic education and continuous learning, so that students may become caring and contributing citizens. Special programs include core, extended, and immersion French; an International Baccalaureate; outdoor education; adult education; and online learning.
