Solar farms to produce $50 million in cash for county | Print |
Two new solar farms slated for Lennox and Addington will bring $50 million -- $25 million apiece -- to the county, sponsors of a recent meeting said.  Ted Hsu, executive director of Switch Kingston, said the farms will bring $100 million in business -- half of which will go to the local economy in business contracts.

David Bergeron has plenty to toast right now. His winery is ageing nicely. And he believes the new local industry will continue to be fruitful for himself and others in the near future. "When we opened in 2007, we were the first (in Lennox and Addington county)," said the owner of Bergeron Estate Winery, located on the Loyalist Parkway in Adolphustown. "I believe in the next 10 to 15 years there will be another 10 opening up."
