County Council has confirmed the following goals for the operating responsibility for ambulance service in the County of Lennox and Addington:
• Improve ambulance service coverage and response times in the area;
• Ensure deployment strategies provide effective ambulance coverage across the region;
• Maximize the County’s utilization of the province’s service improvement grant;
• Stabilize the complement of paramedic staffing and volunteers for the service;
• Provide employment and volunteer service opportunities for current full-time and part-time paramedics and volunteers serving in the County;
• Encourage interested citizens and students within the area to develop the required qualifications and skills for opportunities within the service.
The County is dedicated to providing the best possible ambulance service, which is well co-ordinated and provides efficient and effective service delivery at a reasonable cost for the citizens of Lennox and Addington.
This service commitment plan addresses several key components of the County’s Ambulance Service including response and reaction times, service levels, bases, and human resources within the service.
At the January 11, 2007 County Council meeting, Council endorsed the following motion,
"That County Council and Management staff are committed to the goal of a 20:00 minute response time for ambulance calls 90% of the time within the County of Lennox & Addington."
The County’s ambulance service is divided into two divisions, the Napanee Division and the Northbrook - Denbigh Division, which will retain its current volunteer service status. The Napanee Division is serviced by full-time and part-time paramedics and the Northbrook - Denbigh Division is serviced by volunteers.

Northbrook-Denbigh Division
• Northbrook Base/ 2 volunteers/ 1 vehicle/ 24 hours per day
• Denbigh Base/ 2 volunteers/ 1 vehicle/ 24 hours per day
• 1 Area Supervisor/ 1 ERV

The following information outlines the human resources requirements for the Northbrook-Denbigh Division and the Napanee Division of the County of Lennox and Addington Ambulance Service.
Northbrook - Denbigh Division

- 35 to 45 qualified volunteers
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirement EFR, (preferred upgrade to) Defib certification and Symptom Relief
- Preferred requirement A-EMCA P1 level
Minimum of one Primary Care Paramedic per vehicle per shift
Northbrook Shifts
- 12 hours (7:00am - 7:00pm)
- 12 hours (7:00pm - 7:00am)
Denbigh Shifts
- 12 hours (8:00am - 8:00pm)
- 12 hours (8:00pm - 8:00am)
Scheduling
- Shifts can be scheduled separately or consecutively
Napanee Division
