The 2011 L&A Economic Development Awards are quickly approaching, the date set for November 17th. While the award presentations to the County's finest businesses and entrepreneurs is always the highlight, a very close second is the keynote speaker that has been secured for the evening. Even if you don't know the name, we're sure you know the voice.  Jerry Howarth has spent more than 30 years as the radio broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club.

Jerry has seen it all during his tenure in the booth, and has witnessed the team develop from its infancy expansion years into a perennial contender, to two-time World Series champions, and has also watched as the team emerge from a rebuilding franchise into a team with a bright future ahead.  

Jerry's talk will be filled with entertaining anecdotes from his extensive radio and sports coaching experience, and he'll share the lessons he has learned along the way. He'll speak to the importance of leadership, the key aspects of effective coaching, the role of communication and the need to build a positive team spirit.
