The County of Lennox & Addington, Economic Development Department, is seeking nominations for the 2011 Lennox & Addington Economic Development Awards. The 6th annual event, highlighting L&A's finest businesses and entrepreneurs, is being held at the Strathcona Paper Centre in Napanee on Thursday, November 17, 2011 beginning at 7 pm. Nominations are currently being requested for the following categories:

- Tourism Business of the Year
- Small Firm of the Year (fewer than 50 employees)
- Agricultural Operation of the Year
- Manufacturer of the Year
- Lifetime Achievement Award (individual)

The keynote speaker for the evening is Jerry Howarth.  Even if you don't know the name, we're sure you know the voice.  Howarth has spent more than 30 years as the radio broadcaster for the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club. Jerry has seen it all during his tenure in the booth, and has witnessed the team develop from its infancy expansion years into a perennial contender, to two-time World Series champions, and has also watched as the team emerge from a rebuilding franchise into a team with a bright future ahead.  Filled with entertaining anecdotes from his extensive radio and sports coaching experience, Jerry shares with the audience the lessons he has learned along the way, and how these lessons can be applied to one's workplace. Audiences will hear about the importance of leadership, the key aspects of effective coaching, the role of communication and the need to build a positive team spirit.
